Ever wondered how your favorite celebrities always rock that blemish-free face like it’s nothing? Turns out, they put a lot of hard work into that more than you think!

A lot of people get self-conscious with their looks because of the scars that acne leaves behind, and so, of course, there will always be a constant search for the best way to eliminate these imperfections.

Finding the perfect way to get rid of acne scars varies from person to person. There are different types of acne scars and treatments. Not all scars are treated the same way, and you can stay away from surgery if your scar isn’t too serious.

If surgery is simply not in your book, read on to find a tip or two on here to help you hide or banish those pesky acne scars for good.

1. Concealer

This makeup product is not named as one of the essential products you should have in your purse at all times no reason. As its name suggests, concealers are meant to hide your imperfections, may it be skin tone discoloration, eye bags, and yes, acne scars.

Concealers have different types of coverage: sheer to light, light to medium, and medium to full. You want to evaluate the gravity of your scar’s situation before purchasing the correct type of concealer. They can either be in the form of powder, liquid, or cream as well.

Evaluate your skin type and allow for this to decide the concealer you’re going to purchase. Oily skin types usually fare better with powder concealers or any product that says “mattifying” and is oil-free, and liquid and cream concealers work best with dry skin.

2. Spot Treatments

Put a stop to the after-effect while the zit is still there. During the onset of a pimple or acne breakout, you can make sure that they fade naturally by applying spot treatment on the affected area. This will make sure that the darkly pigmented skin cells will be gone as well.

The main ingredient found in spot treatments is usually salicylic acid, which is typically used to help the healing and prevention of facial blemishes. The good thing about this product is that continued use will eliminate the appearance of acne scars on your face eventually—but results are not immediately seen after your first application.

3. Face Masks

These aren’t fads—if you choose the right one with ingredients specifically tailored to your face’s needs, then this might be your new best friend every week. Masks don’t only come in sheet form. Some are liquid gels that you apply on your face with the use of your fingers. Others peel off, while some need rinsing.

Some masks can penetrate your pores enough for them to lighten your acne scars. Coupled with your facial care routine and spot treatment, they’ll solve the problem faster than you know it.

Acne scars are definitely tricky to manage, but with the right combination of skin care methods and even staple kitchen products, you’ll simultaneously be able to get rid of them and prevent them from ever coming back.
